I’ve always loved lipstick. And although I wear more subdued colors these days, I’m not afraid to wear bold and bright colors when the time is right. But you know what makes lipstick even more beautiful? Super soft exfoliated lips. Nothing shows off a pretty lip color better than having healthy and moisturized lips to start. So consider this DIY Plumping Lip Scrub the first step in beautiful lips. It’ll be your new lipstick primer you can’t live without, except it only costs pennies to make and tastes delicious too.

What You’ll Need for DIY Plumping Lip Scrub:
- 1 TBS Brown Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- Jars
Let’s talk about the ingredients now.
- Brown sugar is a natural exfoliate. This will get off all those flaky dead skin cells that make your lips look and feel dry.
- Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer. It also gently cleans the lips and provides a nice shine if going for a natural look or base for lipstick.
- CINNAMON! The star of the lip-plumping show brings blood flow to the lips making them look plumper. (NOTE: The cinnamon will burn your lips a little but it won’t cause any harm.)
- Honey is also a natural lip-plumper and exfoliator! Who knew? But very sweet.
Of course, the effect is only temporary. But with time this scrub will help reveal healthier lips anyway! Use it before heading out for a dinner or anywhere you’d throw on some pretty lipstick.
And if you’re really into scrubs, try this DIY hand scrub too!
How to use DIY Plumping Lip Scrub
1.) Simply mix all the ingredients together.
2.) apply with your index finger and rub in circular motions for several minutes. The longer you can go the better.
3.) Apply your favorite lip liner and lipstick to show them off. If you have some gloss, go ahead and end with it. Gloss can also help make lips loop plumper.
ake and two minutes to use. And because you can get beautiful lipsticks on Amazon Prime…if we add those up…that means you can have beautiful plump lips in two days flat. Whatcha waiting for? ;)
