I don’t know about you, but I feel like all my friends are going on trips to Israel/Greece/Ireland/etc lately. Unfortunately, my trips lately have been reserved for honeymoons (almost two years ago!) Buffalo, and the occasional work trip. No matter where you’re headed though these TSA-approved beauty products will keep you looking pretty whether you’re on your way to Denver or Denmark. (And if you like to save money you might also enjoy picking up tips from How to Save Money Traveling Abroad.

“You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. Placing these items in the small bag and separating from your carry-on baggage facilitates the screening process. Pack items that are in containers larger than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters in checked baggage.”
Thankfully, most companies label their travel-sized items that are already TSA-approved.
10 Best TSA-Approved Beauty Products

1. Rescue your Skin with a Sheet Mask
Flying causes dehydration, especially for our skin. Not only should you drink an extra bottle of water after you get off a flight (because who wants to use a plane’s bathroom more than necessary?) but you should also make sure to take extra care of your skin.
While it would be nice to take a mud mask on a trip, they can be messy and don’t always come in nice TSA-approved travel sizes. A sheet mask, however, is just that – a mask in a sheet! It’s also very thin and portable. Oh, and they work great. My favorites are these organic and cruelty-free ones from Orgaid. but you should experiment with different brands yourself.
2. Save Face with Cleansing Cloths!
3. Face Cleanser and Moisturizer
4. Gummies to Enhance your Beauty Sleep and Make Your Face GLOW
“If you are traversing time zones, it is easy to lose your ability to
get a solid 8 hours. And of course, battling jet-lag can take away
from your fun. Whether on a plane, boat, or train, I have come to love
melatonin chewy gummies. A natural sleep aid based off the brain’s own
melatonin that signals the body’s “I’m tired” feeling, I chew one or
two gummies super slowly about half an hour before I want to lay down
for bed. There are many flavors and makers out there, but I like the
blackberry flavored ones made by Olly.”
5. Dry Shampoo
There are a TON of dry shampoos out there, and I’ve tried just about every one of them. My favorite is Captain Blankenship Mermaid Dry Shampoo. Not only does it smell amazing (and work) but it comes in a convenient 2.4oz bottle. Friends of mine swear by Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo. But if you’re into homemade products you can make your own DIY Dry Shampoo too!
6. Don’t sweat it – pack this natural deodorant!
I’ve been trying out different natural deodorants for the past several years and have finally settled on LaVanilla Healthy Deodorant. It’s on the pricey side but it’s one of the few truly natural ones I’ve found that also WORK. I swear by it. Oh, and it comes in a bunch of scents including vanilla coconut and grapefruit.
The 0.9oz size will also fit perfectly into your travel bag, making it easy to grab to prevent you from feeling gross as you run through airports.
7. Travel-Friendly Shampoo & Conditioner
Yes, you can always use what your hotel provides, especially if you are going to a 5-star resort! But if not you might want to pack your favorite brand too to keep your hair lookin’ fly on the fly. If you love your shampoo and conditioner, you might want to get some refillable bottles.
If that’s not your thing, just look for your favorite brand in travel size.
8. Protect yourself from the Sun
In the chance that you are going somewhere warm and sunny, you might want to tuck a travel-sized sunscreen into your carry on travel bag. Especially because you never know when your checked bag may get lost. This goes for all these travel items. It’s better to have a small batch on hand than none at all.
I’ve been hearing great things about Sun Bum (again it comes in a travel size!) so this year will be giving it a go. Plus, I hear it smells great and is non-greasy.
9. Gum to Keep You Fresh
This might seem like an odd beauty product to include but first: it protects your ears while flying! Second, it’ll keep your breath fresh so when you get to your destination you won’t worry about knocking over anyone with airport-pretzel breath. I also love these disposable toothbrushes you can easily use in an airport bathroom and throw away.
10. The Final touch – perfume!
Because of the chemicals in perfume, I like to use them sparingly, but if I’m going on a nice dinner with my husband, or on vacation, I like to smell pretty. Personally, I like to stock up on the samples from Sephora because they travel so easily. If you’d like to purchase your own scent though LaVanilla has natural travel-sized perfumes and ALL my friends rave about Tocca perfume, which ones in a travel-friendly rollerball. And if you’re young at heart, try this Bunny Perfume Bar for even easier travel.

Such a helpful list! I really want to try that dry shampoo. I pinned this for my next trip! :)
Woohoo! I think you will love them as much as I do.
Oooh gimme ALL the products!
Girl, I am totally pinning this. I get so frustrated when I have to pack to fly, and I always end up feeling like nothing is TSA-okay and then I don’t end up having quality skincare/makeup with me. I’ll definitely look into this for my trip to Boston in the fall–thank you!
Woohoo! They are awesome products on their own too but especially great for flying!
Thanks for sharing! I always need gum on a plane, otherwise my ears will really hurt. lol
haha me too :)
This is a great list even if you don’t need TSA approved items. I have some vacations planned so I definitely want to try the Mermaid Shampoo., Youth to the People, and Tony Moly. I love that they now have gummy melatonin. Sadly I can’t do fun or perfume because of my migraines but they are travel staples.
Yes all awesome products! Honestly, I can’t use that much perfume either but for special occasions I will splash it on.
This is an excellent list! Unrelated, I’m going to have to try that sheet mask, it sounds lovely.
It is my favorite mask!!
I travel all the time and I usually just end up buying whatever I can that’s the right size. Definitely going to keep my eyes out for these. They look much better than the random stuff I usually pick up!
They are top notch!
These are all wonderful. I’ll be excited to try them all.
So many products on this list that I need to try! Thanks for sharing!
