Need a ridiculously easy dinner idea? Try this healthy and easy hummus pasta dish! And I promise not even to bore you with a whole backstory beforehand. 😉 But this meal is so ridiculously easy you could make it with your eyes closed. (Please don’t though as it involves boiling water.) And if you have picky eaters, don’t tell them it’s made from hummus and they’ll never know.
Healthy & Easy Hummus Pasta Dish

What You Will Need for hummus pasta:
- Pasta of choice. I use Barilla protein + for added protein.
- Hummus of choice. (Plain, red pepper, or even spicy red pepper all work great.)
- OPTIONAL: meat of choice. I like to use sausage.
How to make the hummus pasta dish:
1.) Boil pasta as normal.
2.) Scoop hummus into a saucepan. I use about half a cup for one serving. Don’t worry, you can always keep adding more hummus to make more sauce. It only takes a minute!
3.) Before the pasta is done cooking, scoop out a cup (or a little more) of water to mix with the hummus and stir on low heat until completely melted.
4.) Strain the pasta and add it to the sauce. And that’s it!
I like to add cooked sausage to make it a more filling meal along with a vegetable. I once tried the spicy red pepper and the pasta tasted very similar to a Thai dish.
And if you liked this, don’t forget to check out my husband-approved, crockpot chili!
That’s brilliant quick and easy recipe which you can try when you are not in mood for causal dinner.
You mean I can enjoy two of my favorites in one meal? Nice!
haha indeed!
I want to thank you for sharing this recipe by trying it out on this weekend
