No childhood is complete without playdough. I remember growing up playing with it and I’m enjoying watching my toddler love to squish her little hands in it. Previously, I shared my easiest homemade playdough recipe which is the same as traditional playdough you’d buy in a store. While it’s super easy and cheap to make, traditional playdough is also very drying on my hands. So, I found an alternative and it’s even easier! Here is my two-ingredient, no-cook playdough recipe!
This recipe is also great for kids and adults who have allergies to traditional playdough with flour. Oh, and it smells amazing.
My Two-Ingredient, No Cook Playdough Recipe

Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 Cup Corn Starch
- 1/2 Cup Conditioner (or lotion)
- Food coloring (optional)
That’s it, folks!
How to Make No Cook Playdough Recipe
1.) Combine the corn starch and conditioner (and a few drops of food coloring if you’re using it) until it’s the consistency you want.
2.) Enjoy!
Yes, this involves your hands! But that’s it! No cooking. No stirring. Now, at first, you’re going to be like, “No way is this going to make playdough.” But keep squishing and soon you will be amazed.
Because you’re using conditioner your hands will also feel amazing.
The end result of this cornstarch playdough is a cross between playdough and wet sand. Some people call it “moon dough” because it’s an entirely new but wonderful texture. You can still roll it out, make shapes, and cut it like regular playdough though. Oh, and since it’s made with conditioner it also smells lovely.
By the next day, it might be a little dryer. You can either add more conditioner to it or leave it. I like the new consistency because it’s more similar to sand then.
