If you’ve been around these parts then you know I love my DIY face masks. The one I’m going to introduce you to today Is one of my favorites: my DIY Cinnamon Face Mask. Not only is it made with just four ingredients, but I’m sure you already have them in your kitchen. Also, it’s one of the few masks that fights acne, pores, and acne scarring.
However, I affectionately call it “The Burning Mask” because, well, it can sting a little. If you have very sensitive skin this mask may not be for you. Don’t let that scare you though. Test a small piece of skin first and see how it goes. Because let me tell you, it’s worth it!. To further convince you to try it let’s talk about the benefits.
DIY Cinnamon Face Mask
The homemade mask will:
- reduce acne scars leftover from your teenage days
- shrink pores
- help reduce acne
- and provide a beautiful glow.
It’s the bomb dot com. My husband says people don’t say that anymore but I still do so the jokes on him. For even more benefits, check out 5 Surprising Uses for cinnamon.
DIY Cinnamon Face Mask Ingredients:
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp honey
- 2 tsp lemon juice
How to use DIY Cinnamon Face Mask
1.) Simple mix it together until it makes a nice paste and gently rub on your face
2.) Leave on for just a few minutes if you have very sensitive skin but otherwise leave on up to 15-20 minutes.
3.) Do not scrub. It is a mask and not a scrub for a reason. If you have bad acne scarring you can rub in soft circles on your face but keep it gentle. If you want a scrub try this awesome grapefruit one!
4.) Follow up with a good moisturizer. Might I recommend this buttery soft one made from ghee or this one for sensitive skin?
I do this mask every fall (after my tan has faded) and I’m always reminded why I love it. My skin is currently glowing just from one use, plus it smells like the holidays.
